Our third episode is a ‘harder’ techno set by a wonderful girl from industrial city Perm (which stands by Ural Mountains) - DJ Geralda.

There’s a saying in Russian about woman - she can stop a horse on a run, and enter the house on fire. And this expression shows Russian women’s character quite well, both in creative and regular life. A young girl, who was performing under a name of DJ Geralda, became seriously involved into club life in 2001. DJ Geralda performed in all popular clubs of his native town, Perm, as well as in major clubs of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other cities in Russia and the ‘near-abroad’ countries (Ukraine, Estonia, etc.). She took part in music festival ‘Kazantip’ in 2005-2006, and also was a headliner of numerous open-air and rave parties around Russia. A bright image and absolute DJing skills helped Geralda to charm clubbers and take a leap on the Russian scene. She is the one who has a pictorial musical style and feminine technique of performance. She says: ‘The best compliment I can receive is when people come up to me and say that I was so good at the party that they want to keep working with me’.

Remeber Vadz on Tele-15, a record called ‘Pisdez’? so, the story continues… Chen from Broken Sound, a local old-good-social-Public-Enemy-style MC and producer is busy with his new album coming out soon, and we’ve made an experement again - he gave me an acapella, i made music, and here’s a new track !! (the main refrain says ‘Pokhuy’ and could be translated to English like ‘Don’t give a f_ck’). The ’song’ is in Russian, as ‘Pisdez’ was, and it’s about young people and their social position nowadays - don’t care about anything happening around, just hanging out at parties, drinking beer, etc… And of course, lyrics has a lot of bad words, criticizing everything and everyone. Check it out & feel the youth spirit of Mother Russia.

2 vox versions are almost the same, except pitched/fx’ed vocals and a pair of different breaks, and instrumental is instrumental. A lot of common people are already getting mad of this song in Russia - it has a massive underground DJs’ support. Chen himself is putting ‘Vox 2′ on his album as a bonus - will be out by autumn. And if anyone of you want any of those 3 in hi-q - just drop a request in comments.

The spirit of St. Petersburg, its special mentality and internal arrangement (once you’ve been there you know what i mean) cause special attitude towards self-expression, (& towards techno music too!).

Ok, just imagine - water, dampness everywhere, industry around museums, hypochondric people in the streets, unpredictable weather changes… you can hear it all in selection by our guest - DJ Serotanine (who is 1/2 of Postapocalyps Pop liveact BTW). He brought some classic tunes today, the kind of stuff he usually plays at the parties. So, here we go! from St. Petersburgh to Brighton… are you ready for take-off?
